CAST
In the near future, will all humans have to answer to machines? Reduced to a mere servant by the despised but efficient Autoprof software, pitching its lessons way below the students' level, Virgil decides to go against the rigours of conformity, so sets about bringing to his sessions the personal touch from his day as a teacher. However, it is easier said than done.
Dead Poets Society meets 1984 in a riveting cautionary tale for those who care about education beyond targets and stats. Bleak and dystopian, The English Lesson is one we all need to learn before it is too late. Poor Virgil is bullied, harassed and intimated into complying with a system that is decayed, corrupted and abusive towards its employees.
